How to make ginger garlic paste at home with step by step pictures 


              Ginger garlic paste is one of the main ingredient in south-indian cooking.  It is a combination of ginger paste and garlic paste.  Including ginger garlic paste in our food helps for digestion.  It increases the flavour of the food.  Making ginger garlic paste at home is a simple and easy process that you can make it within a mins if you have peeled ginger and garlic at your hand. 

              I personally make ginger garlic paste and store it in refrigerator for atleast a month and it is very handy for me to cook dishes using ginger and garlic.  I peel the skin of ginger and garlic whenever i had time.  Adding salt to ginger garlic paste acts as a preservative that keeps it fresh for more days.  Check out how to make ginger garlic paste at home below with step by step pictures.

Ingredients   : 


.   Ginger  -  3/4 cup (peeled) 
.   Garlic  -  1 cup  (peeled) 
.   Salt  -  1 tsp 


Method  : 


           1. Peel the skin of ginger and garlic.  Wash the peeled ginger and garlic to remove any dirt.  

          2. Grind both ginger and garlic in a mixer jar to a smooth paste by adding 2 tsp of water.  Add salt to it.  Mix well.  

         3. Store it in air-tight container and keep it in refrigerator for further use.  Take whenever you want with a clean dry spoon.

Transfer to the mixer jar


Grind it to smooth paste


Transfer to a bowl. ( I make it in batches and mixed it)


Add salt


Mix well.  Ginger garlic paste is ready.  Store it in air-tight container.  


Always keep in mind while cooking that ginger garlic paste has some salt.  Keep it in refrigerator for further use.  Use clean, dry spoon everytime to take ginger garlic paste.
