Ribbon pakoda recipe with step by step pictures
Ribbon pakoda is a easy Indian snack that is made with gram flour and rice flour. It is made with few other variations. Today I have shared simple and easy ribbon pakoda that you can make it within 20- 30 mins. It needs little time to cook that you have to cook it in low flame for about 3 - 4 mins both sides for each batch to get the crispy ribbon pakoda. Hope you like the recipe. Give it a try.

Ingredients :
. Gram flour - 1 cup
. Rice flour - 1 cup
. Butter - 1 tblsp (soft at room temperature or melted)
. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
. Salt to taste
. Asafoetida / hing - 1/4 tsp
. White sesame seeds - 1 tsp
. Oil for frying
. Water to knead
. Oil - 1 tblsp (to grease the mould)
Method :
1. Take gram flour and rice flour in a bowl. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, butter, hing and salt.
2. Crumble the butter until it mixes with the flour. Add sesame seeds. Mix well.
3. Add water little by little and knead the flour into soft non-sticky dough.
4. Heat oil in a kadai for frying. In the meantime, grease the murukku mould with a tsp of oil. Fill the dough into mould.
5. Keep the flame to low. Start pressing the dough into oil directly in circle.
6. Let it cook for 2 min. After the bubble reduces, gently turn upside down using laddle. Cook for another min.
7. Strain the pakoda and remove to plate. After it gets cooled, serve. Keep it in air-tight container.

Take gram flour in a bowl
Add rice flour to it
Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, hing and soft butter
Crumble it until butter mixes well with the flour
Add sesame seeds
Add water little by little (it takes less than a cup of water)
Knead well to make a soft dough
Grease the murukku mould
Fill it with the prepared dough
Heat oil for frying. Keep the flame to low
Start pressing the dough into oil directly
Cook for 2 mins until the bubbles reduces and flip upside down and cook for another 2 mins
Strain the pakoda. Remove to plate
Crispy ribbon pakoda is ready. Let it cool. Store it in air-tight container.
