Paruppu adai dosa recipe with step by step pictures 


              Paruppu adai dosa is a healthy recipe which contains more proteins.  Combining different dal makes the dosa more healthier.  In this recipe,  i have added raw rice, toor dal, chana dal and urad dal.  You can add your favorite dals too. It is a instant dosa recipe, as you dont want to ferment the batter.    It can be served commonly with aviyal or simply with Coconut fried gram chutney  Hope you like it.

Ingredients  : 

.  Raw rice/ pacharisi - 1 cup 
.  Toor dal - 1/4 cup 
.  chana dal  - 1/4 cup 
.  Urad dal - 4 tblsp 
.  Garlic cloves - 5 
.  dry red Chillies - 3 
.  fennel seeds - 1 tsp 
.  Onion - 1 medium sized (finely chopped)
.  coriander leaves - 3 tblsp ( finely chopped)
.  turmeric powder - 1 tsp 
.  Salt to taste 
.  Cumin seeds  - 1 tsp
.  Oil  to drizzle on dosa 


Method : 

            1. Soak raw rice, toor dal, chana dal, urad dal for about 3 hours. 
            2.  Strain the rice and dal.  Transfer to mixer jar along with garlic ,dry red Chillies and fennel seeds . Grind to smooth paste by adding little water. 
            3.  Transfer to a bowl.  Add chopped onion, coriander leaves ,turmeric powder, salt and cumin seeds. Mix well. 
            4.  Heat the tawa.  Pour the batter on tawa and flatten it with a laddle to round shape. Drizzle some oil. 
            5.  When the sides of the dosa getting golden brown,  flip it.  Again cook for 1 min in medium flame.  Adai dosai is ready.  Serve. 


Pictorial  : 

             1) Take raw rice, toor dal, chana dal and urad dal in a bowl. 


             2) wash the rice and dal throughly and soak it for about 3 hours. 


            3) Strain the rice and dal. 


            4) Transfer it to the mixer jar along with garlic, dry red Chillies and fennel seeds  


           5) Grind it to a smooth consistency by adding little water.  Transfer to a bowl. 


           6) Add chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves  turmeric powder, salt and cumin seeds. 


          7) Mix it well.


          8) Heat dosa tawa.  Pour the batter on the tawa and flatten it with the laddle to round shape. Drizzle some oil on dosa. 


         9) When the sides of the dosa getting golden brown, flip it. Cook for a min.  


        10) paruppu adai dosa is ready.  Serve. 


Note : 

        1.  I have added 3 red Chillies as i cook for kids too.  You can adjust the quantity as per your taste. 
        2.  The batter should be neither thick nor thin.
