Homemade curd / How to make curd at home with step by step pictures 


            Curd is a dairy product which is made from milk.  I know people,  who dont like milk but like curd very much.  Curd is very good for health.  Kids love it.  You can use curd as an accompaniment for rice and also used to make many recipes like raita,  lassi,  buttermilk and it is used as an ingredient in many recipes.  

           I always make curd at home and keep it in the refrigerator for daily use.  Give it a try and you never bought curd from stores.  It is thick and creamy.  Hope you like it.

Ingredients  :

.  Milk -  1/2 litre
.  Curd -  1 tblsp 

Method :

          1. Boil the milk until it forms foam at the top.  Let it become warm at room temperature. Filter it. 
   
          2. Add curd.  Mix it well without any lumps.  Transfer to the bowl which you are going to set the curd.  Leave it overnight or for about 8 hours at room temperature.  

        3. After 8 hours,  your thick and creamy curd is ready.  Keep it in refrigerator and it will be fresh for a week.

            1)  Take milk in a saucepan. 


           2) Boil the milk. 


          3) Switch off the flame when it forms foam at top. 


          4) Let it become warm at room temperature. 


          5) Filter the skin formed over it. 


          6)  Add curd. 


           7) Mix it well without any lumps. 


           8) Transfer to the bowl or containers which you are going to set the curd. 


           9) Close it with the lid. Leave it overnight  or for about 8 hours.  

  
          10) After 8 hours,  your thick,  creamy and tasty curd is ready.  


Note :

            1. 8 hours at room temperature is perfect for summer season.  In winter,  you can keep the containers in hotbox.  

           2. The milk must be warm while adding the curd.  It is neither hot nor cool.

           3. Keep the curd in the refrigerator and it will be fresh for a week.
