Podi idli recipe with step by step pictures
Podi idli is a south-indian breakfast recipe. Idli is the most common breakfast in tamilnadu. It can be served with chutneys and sambar. It tastes good with idli podi which can be made with some dry roasted dal. It can be mixed with sesame oil or ghee. This pidi idli is made by tossing the idlis with podi and some tempering. It tastes delicious. It doesn't need any sidedish. If you wish, you can serve it with Coconut fried gram chutney or Coconut chutney.
I have made it using mini idlis. You can use the normal idlis by cutting into cubes. Hope you like it. Check out the recipe below with step by step pictures.

Ingredients :
. Mini idlis - 12
. Idli podi - 3 tblsp ( i have used sakthi paruppu podi)
. Sesame oil - 2 tblsp
. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
. Urad dal - 1 tsp
. Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Method :
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and urad dal. Let it splutters and turns to golden brown add curry leaves. Add idlis and podi. Toss well for a min. Serve hot.

3) After it crackle and turns to golden brown, add curry leaves. Let it become crisp.
4) Add idlis. Toss once.
5) Add podi.
6) Toss well for a min until idlis are well-coated with the podi. Turn off the flame.
7) Serve hot.
Note :
I used sakthi paruppu podi. It is less spicy and i used 3 tblsp. You can use your favorite idli podi. Adjust the quantity of podi and oil upto your taste.
I used sesame oil in this recipe you can also use ghee.
