Luchi recipe / maida poori/ soft poori recipe

Luchi recipe with step by step pictures 


              Luchi is a north-indian poori recipe which is served for breakfast with some curries or sabzi.  Luchi is made in the same method followed for south-indian wheat poori but it is made with maida (all purpose flour).  This poori is very soft compared to normal wheat poori.  Do try at your home.

Ingredients   : 


.   Maida / all purpose flour   -  2 cup
.   Ghee  -  2 tblsp
.   Salt to taste
.   Water to knead
.   Oil for frying luchi

Method  : 


             1. Take maida in a mixing bowl.  Add ghee and salt.  Mix well and Crumble the flour.  Add enough water.  Knead well.  Rest it for 1/2 an hour. 

            2. Heat oil for frying.  Take a dough ball.  Flatten it.  Drop into oil.  Press until it puffs.  Flip and cook until golden brown.  Drain it.  Luchi is ready.

Heat oil for frying


Take a dough ball


Flatten it using rolling pin


Drop it in hot oil



Press until it puffs.  Flip and cook until golden brown.  Drain it


Soft luchi is ready to be served
