Potato bajji recipe with step by step pictures 


           Potato bajji is a evening time snack recipe of south-india.  It is a easy to cook recipe and wont take much time to cook.  It tastes yummy.  You can make this bajji with instant bajji bonda mix too.  But my favorite was to prepare batter with gram flour,  Rice flour and few more ingredients.  It tastes better than instant mix.  Do try at your home and sure you like it.  Check out the Potato bajji recipe below with step by step pictures.

Ingredients   : 


.   Potato   -  3 medium sized 
.   Gram flour  -  1 cup
.   Rice flour   -  1/4 cup
.   Turmeric powder   -  1/2 tsp
.   Red chilli powder   -  2 tsp
.   Salt to taste
.   Hing / asafoetida  -  1/4 tsp
.   Baking soda  -  1 pinch 
.   Oil for frying 

Method  : 


          1. Wash and peel the skin of the potatoes.  Slice the potatoes.  Rinse in cool water to remove starch.  Pat dry with clean towel.  

         2. Take all the other ingredients except oil in a mixing bowl.  Add enough water and mix well to make a batter.  

        3. Heat oil for frying.  Dip the Potato slice in batter.  Drop it in oil.  Cook in medium flame.  Flip it to cook evenly.  Cook both sides until golden brown.  Strain the bajji.  Serve it hot.

Slice the potatoes 


Rinse in cool water to remove starch


Pat it dry with clean towel


Take gram flour, Rice flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, hing,  salt and baking soda in a mixing bowl


Mix it well


Add water to make a batter ( the batter should be neither thick nor thin) 


Heat oil for frying 


Dip the Potato slice in prepared batter


Coat both the sides with batter and take it out


Drop it into oil


Similarly drop one by one.  Cook in medium flame.  Flip it to cook evenly


Cook until it becomes golden brown colour.  Strain the bajji.  Its done


Tasty and yummy Potato bajji is ready to be served
