Ladies finger fry/ vendakkai poriyal / okra dry fry / bhindi sabji

      Ladies finger fry with step by step pictures 

         
            Ladies finger fry is a very tasty and easy to cook recipe. When you are looking for a perfect sidedish for any variety rice,  i would recommend this okra fry. 


            This ladies finger recipe can also be accompanied with sambar rice or any other indian meal.  Give it a try and you love it. 


Ingredients :


.  ladies finger / okra -  250gms 
.  Turmeric powder  -  1tsp 
.   Homemade kulambu powder  -  1 tblsp 
.   Salt to taste 
.   Oil -  2  tblsp 
.   Mustard seeds  -  1 tsp 
.   Urad dal  -  1 tsp 
.    Bengal gram  -  1 tsp 


Method :

     1.   cut the ladies finger. 

     2.   Heat oil in the pan.  

     3.    Add the ladies finger and saute for 2 mins in medium flame. 

     4.   Add turmeric powder,  homemade kulambu powder and salt.  Saute for 1 min. 

    5.    Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 3 mins in low flame .

     6.    Open the lid and give it a mix and again cover with lid for 1 min. 

     7.   Your ladies finger fry is ready to serve. 


Pictorial :


        1)  cut the ladies finger. 


         2)   Heat oil in a pan. 


         3)  Add the ladies finger and saute for 1 min. 


        4)   Add turmeric powder , kulambu powder, salt. 


      5)  Saute for 1 min. 


        6)   Cover with lid. 


        7)  cook for 5 mins in medium flame.  Stir in between. Serve. 

Note:

       1.   Do not add water to it . It will gives you sticky feel. 
       2.   If you don't have any kulambu powder at home,  you can use 1/2 tsp chilli powder , 1/2 tsp coriander powder and 1/4 tsp cumin powder to this recipe.
