Beans paruppu usili recipe with step by step pictures
Paruppu usilli is an indian sidedish recipe especially brahmin recipe. It it a no onion and no garlic dish. It can be made with vegetables like beans, cluster beans, broad beans, plantain flower, etc,. Today i made this recipe with french beans. Its tasty and easy to cook.

Ingredients :
. French beans - 2 cup
. Channa dal / bengal gram - 1cup
. Toor dal - 1/4 cup
. Green chillies - 2
. dry red Chilli - 1
. turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
. Salt to taste
. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
. Oil - 2 tblsp
Method :
1. chop french beans finely and cook in hot water With required salt for 5 min or until it becomes soft.
2. Soak chana dal and toor dal for about 2 hours . Strain it and transfer to mixer jar. Add green chillies, dry red Chilli, turmeric powder and salt. Grind to coarse paste.
3. Cook in steamer or idli maker for 10 min.
4. Remove from steamer and pulse it in a blender.
5. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds. After it splutters , add dal mixture and saute for 2 min in low flame.
6. Add cooked beans. Fry for 5 min. Paruppu usili is ready to serve.

6) Cook in steamer or idli maker for 10 min.
7) Remove from the steamer. Let it cool.
8) Again transfer to mixer jar. Pulse it to get a dal mixture.
9) Heat oil in a pan.
10) Add cumin seeds.
11) After it crackle, add the ground mixture. Saute for 2 min.
12) Add cooked beans to it.
13) Mix well. Cook for 5 min stir in between.
14) serve.

13) Mix well. Cook for 5 min stir in between.
14) serve.
Note :
1. Do not add water to the dal while Grinding.
2. Strain the beans well. If it has some water, it will spoil the texture of the recipe.
3. Check the salt and spice, if you want some more spice, add red Chilli powder and salt while frying the dal mixture and beans.
