Instant kurma recipe with step by step pictures
Instant kurma is a sidedish for idli and dosas. It is a quick recipe for a busy morning. If i dont have any other vegetables other than onion and tomato at home, and wanted to make a sidedish, then i go for this recipe. This recipe was taught by my mom to me. Try it at your home and let me know how it turns out to you.

Ingredients :
. Oil - 1 tblsp
. Cinnamon - 2
. cloves - 4
. onion - 1 medium sized (finely chopped )
. Curry leaves - 1 sprig
. turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
. Chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
. coriander powder - 1 tblsp
. Garam masala - 1 tblsp
. Salt to taste
. Coriander leaves - to garnish
To grind :
. coconut - 1/4 cup
. Tonato - 1 (roughly chopped )
. ginger - 2 inch piece
. Garlic cloves - 8
. fried gram - 2 tblsp
. Fenbel seeds - 1 tsp
. coconut - 1/4 cup
. Tonato - 1 (roughly chopped )

Method :
1. Take all the ingredients given under to grind, in a mixer jar. Grind to a smooth paste.
2. Heat oil in a kadai. Add cinnamon and cloves. After it crackle, add chopped onion and curry leaves. saute until it becomes soft.
3. Add the ground paste. Saute for few secs in low flame. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder and garam masala. Mix it well. saute for a min.
4. Add 1 cup of water and salt. Mix well. Cook for 8 - 10 min in medium flame. Garnish with coriander leaves. Switch off the flame. Serve.

12) Garnish with coriander leaves. Switch off the flame.
