Pachai payaru sweet sundal recipe with step by step pictures 


               Pachai payaru sweet sundal is a healthy snack of tamilnadu.  It is served as prasatham in navrathri festival.  It is sweet and so it is liked by kids.  It is easy to cook and tastes yummy.  Try this healthy snack at your home.  I have already posted the Spicy pachai payaru sundal  recipe.  Check that too.

Ingredients   : 


.   Pachai payaru / green gram  -  1/2 cup
.   Jaggery powder  -  3 tblsp (as per your taste) 
.   Cardomom powder  -  1/2 tsp
.   Grated coconut   -  2 tblsp 
.   Salt  -  1 pinch 

Method  : 


            1. Soak green gram overnight or 8 hours.  Boil the water.  Add green gram with a pinch of salt.  Cook for 5 -  8 mins until the green gram gets cooked well.  

           2. Strain the green gram.  Keep it aside. 

          3. Take jaggery powder in a kadai.  Add a tblsp of water.  Cook until it dissolves.  Fliter it.  

         4. Heat a pan.  Add liquid jaggery.  Cook for few secs.  Add cardomom powder and cooked green gram.  Mix well for 2 mins until it gets dried.  

         5. Add grated coconut.  Mix well for a min.  Switch off the flame.  Tasty pachai payaru sweet sundal is ready.
