 Hash brown recipe with step by step pictures



           Hash brown is an American breakfast recipe which is also served as a snack for kids. It is made with grated potatoes which made into patty shaped and fried in pan. It is a easy to cook recipe that you can cook within 15 mins. It is very tasty and it needs only few ingredients that is easily available in our kitchen. Hope you like the recipe. Give it a try.

Ingredients  : 


.  Potato  -  3
.  All purpose flour  -  1/4 cup (add if needed) 
.  Onion  -  1 small sized  (finely chopped) 
.  Chilli powder  -  1 tsp
.  Pepper powder  -  2 tsp
.  Salt to taste
.  Oil for shallow fry

Method  : 


             1.  Wash and peel the skin of the potatoes. Grate the potatoes. Soak in cold water for 10 mins to remove starch. 

             2.  Strain the grated potatoes in a cloth. Squeeze the cloth to remove excess water. Take it in a bowl. 

            3.  Add onion, chilli powder, pepper powder and salt.  Mix well.  

            4.  Take a ball of the potato mixture.  Make it into patty shaped. 

            5.  Place the patties in frying pan. Cook for 2 - 3 mins and gently flip to another side. Cook both the sides until outer layer becomes golden brown and crispy.  

            6. Remove to plates. Serve with tomato sauce

             Take 3 medium sized potatoes


                             Peel the skin


                  Grate the potatoes nicely


             Soak it in cold water for 10 mins


      Strain the grated potatoes in a clean towel


             Squeeze out the excess water


               Transfer to a mixing bowl


               Add finely chopped onion


        Add chilli powder, pepper powder, all purpose flour and salt


        Mix it well. If need add a tblsp of water


                       Heat oil in a tawa


              Take a ball of the potato mixture


                  Make it into rectangle patty 


     Place it on tawa. Keep the flame to medium


     Cook until the bottom side becomes brown


       Gently flip it upside down. Cook for another 3 mins


      Cook both the sides until it becomes golden brown


                         Remove to plate


         Hash brown is ready to be served. Serve with any sauce of your choice.
