 Veg kadai masala recipe with step by step pictures



             Veg kadai masala is a sidedish recipe for Indian flat breads. It is a easy to cook recipe which tastes too good with chapathi, roti, naan. I have added carrots and beans in this recipe. You can add your favorite vegetables too. Adding curd enhances the taste of the dish. I made it in gravy consistency, you can make it dry too. Do try at your home.

Ingredients  :

.  Butter  -  1 tblsp
.  Cumin seeds / jeera  -  1 tsp
.  Onion  -  1 medium sized ( finely chopped) 
.  Ginger garlic paste  -  1 tblsp
.  Tomato  -  1 medium sized ( pureed) 
.  Turmeric powder  -  1/2 tsp
.  Kashmiri chilli powder  -  1 tsp
.  Coriander powder  -  2 tsp
.  Cumin powder  -  1 tsp
.  Garam masala  -  2 tsp
.  Salt to taste
.  Curd  -  2 tblsp (beat well) 
.  Carrots, beans  -  1 cup ( chopped into 1 inch size) 
.  Kasuri methi  -  1 tsp
.  Coriander leaves  -  1 tblsp  (finely chopped) 


Method  :


            1.  Heat butter in a kadai. Add jeera. After it splutters, add finely chopped onion. Saute until it becomes golden brown. 

           2.  Add ginger garlic paste. Saute until raw smell goes out. Add tomato puree, saute until it changes colour. 

          3. Add spice powders along with salt. Saute for a min . Add beatened curd. Mix well and cook in low flame until oil oozes out. 

         4. Add chopped veggies. Mix well for a min. Add 1 cup of water. Cover and cook for 5 mins. Add curshed kasuri methi. 

        5. Cook for a min. Add coriander leaves. Mix well. Switch off the flame. Kadai veg masala is ready to serve.

                      Heat butter in a kadai 



                          Add cumin seeds


           After cumin seeds splutters, add finely chopped onion


        Saute until onion becomes golden brown


                    Add ginger garlic paste


              Saute until raw smell goes out


             Add tomato puree ( grind tomato in a mixer jar to make puree) 


            Saute until tomato changes it's colour


           Add turmeric powder, kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt


                           Saute for a min


         Add curd ( beat the curd without lumps) 


         Mix well and cook in low flame until oil oozes out


                     Add chopped veggies


                           Saute for 2 mins 


                       Add 1 cup of water 


                         Cook for 5 mins


              Add curshed kasuri methi


                          Cook for a min


              Add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.  



          Veg kadai masala is ready to be served
