Dry fish fry recipe with step by step pictures
Dry fish fry (karuvadu fry) is a south-indian sidedish recipe for steamed rice.I have made this recipe in deep fry method. It is made with easily available ingredients in our pantry. This dry fish fry is my most favorite and eating it with curd rice is an awesome combination. I have already shared Small dry fish fry with onion. Give it a try. Ingredients :
. Dry fish - 1 handful
. Oil for deep frying
. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
. Chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
. Garam masala - 1 tsp
. Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
. Corn flour - 1 tblsp
. Rice flour - 1 tblsp
( I haven't add salt in this recipe since dry fish has salt itself. If you need some more salt, add as you wish)
Method :
1. Clean the dry fish using plenty of water. Soak in hot water for 30 secs to remove excess salt and dirt. Strain the dry fish.
2. Add corn flour, rice flour, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala, black pepper powder, chilli powder. Mix well. Rest it for 30 mins.
3. Heat oil in kadai. Drop the marinated dry fish, one by one into hot oil. Cook for a min. Strain the fried dry fish. Yummy and tasty dry fish fry is ready.

Take the dry fish
Rinse with plenty of water. Then soak in hot water for 30 secs and rinse to remove excess salt and dirt
Drain the water
Take chilli powder, garam masala, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, corn flour, rice flour
Add all the ingredients to dry fish ( I am not adding salt as dry fish has salt itself) . Marinate it for 1/2 an hour
Heat oil in kadai. Drop the marinated dry fish one by one
Cook until it becomes crispy
Yummy and tasty dry fish fry is ready
