Laccha paratha/ godumai parota/ wheat parota

Laccha paratha recipe with step by step pictures

Laccha paratha is an indian flat bread which is made with wheat flour.  Usually parota is made with all purpose flour (maida)  in south-india.  Just like the maida parota,  this laccha paratha (wheat parota)  is made but with wheat flour.  This paratha is not heavy as like maida parota.  This layered paratha just fulfills your tastebuds.  It can be served with any curries,  kurma, gravy or simply with some raita.  Do try at your home.

I have already posted the Parota  recipe made with maida.  Check out that too.  Hope you like it.  Check out the laccha  (wheat parota) paratha recipe below with step by step pictures.

Ingredients   :

.   Wheat flour   -  2 cup
.   Maida  -  1/4 cup
.   Oil  -  4 tblsp ( to mix with flour)
.   Salt  -  2 tsp
.   Sugar  -  2 tsp
.   Warm water  as required
.   Oil to drizzle over paratha

Method  :

            1. Take wheat flour in a mixing bowl.  Add all the ingredients.  Mix well.  Add warm water to make it as a dough.  Knead it well.  Apply a tsp of oil over it.  Rest it for 15 mins.

           2. Take a small dough ball.  Dust with flour.  Flatten it into thin.  Apply a tap of oil and drizzle a tsp of flour.  Make pleats.  Roll it as a swirl and tuck the end at center.

           3. Similarly make all the dough balls.  Take the swirl dough.  Flatten it using rolling pin.

          4. Heat the tawa.  Place the flatten dough.  Drizzle a tsp of oil over it.  Flip it and cook until both the sides cooks well.  Take it out.

         5. Take the paratha.  Give a gentle crush with your fingers.  You can get the layers nicely.  Laccha paratha is now ready.  Serve it hot with any sidedish.
