 Aloo mint gravy recipe with step by step pictures



              Aloo mint gravy is a simple and easy to cook sidedish recipe for Chapathi . I have tried this mint gravy as I have some leftover mint leaves at my hand. I have already made Aloo Coriander gravy which tastes amazing and I tried this mint gravy in the same method. This also came out too good. Try at your home .

Ingredients  : 

.  Aloo / potato  -  3 medium sized (boiled) 
.  Oil  -  1 tblsp
.  Fennel seeds / sombu  -  1 tsp
.  Onion  -  1 big sized (roughly chopped) 
.  Tomato  -  1 big sized  (roughly chopped) 
.  Garlic  -  6 nos. 
.  Ginger  -  2 inch pieces
.  Green chili  -  2
.  Mint leaves  -  1 handful  (loosely packed) 
.  Coriander leaves  -  4 sprig
.  Turmeric powder  -  1/2 tsp
.  Garam masala  -   2 tsp
.  Salt to taste 
.  Cashew nuts  -  6 


Method  :


           1.  Heat oil in a kadai.  Add roughly chopped onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, green chillies. Saute until it gets cooked. Turn off the flame and let it cool. 

           2. Transfer to the mixer jar and grind it to smooth consistency.  Keep it aside. 

          3. Soak the cashew nuts in hot water for 10 mins. 

          4. Take boiled potatoes and cut it into cubes. 

          5. Heat oil in a kadai. Add fennel seeds. After it crackle, add cubed potatoes.  Saute for few secs. Add ground mint paste. 

         6. Saute for a min. Add 1/2 cup of water. Add turmeric powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well. 

         7. Cover and cook for 5 mins until oil oozes out. Turn off the flame. Aloo mint gravy is ready.

               Heat a tsp of oil in kadai. Add roughly chopped onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, green chillies to it. 


                  Saute until it gets cooked


           Add mint and coriander leaves


            Saute for a min. Turn off the flame


      Soak cashew nuts in hot water for 10 mins


           Transfer the sauteed veggies and cashews into mixer jar


                   Grind it to smooth paste 


Boil the potatoes and peel the skin


                 Cut the potatoes into cubes


                       Heat oil in a kadai


                        Add fennel seeds


          After it crackle, add cubed potatoes


                      Saute for few secs


            Add ground paste and mix well


   Add turmeric powder, garam masala and salt


                                 Mix well


                     Add 1/2 cup of water


    Cook until oil oozes out. Turn off the flame


         Aloo mint gravy is ready to be served
