Paruppu chutney recipe with step by step pictures
Paruppu chutney is a simple yet very tastiest chutney recipe which is one of my most favorite. It is very easy to cook and just similar to other chutneys. It is served with idli and dosas as a sidedish. It takes only 15 mins to cook and suitable for breakfast in busy morning. Do try at your home and sure you love it.

Ingredients :
. Bengal gram dal/ channa dal - 2 tblsp
. Urad dal - 1 tblsp
. Oil - 1 tblsp
. Onion - 1 medium sized ( roughly chopped)
. Tomato - 1 medium sized (roughly chopped)
. Garlic cloves - 6
. Curry leaves - 1 sprig
. Dry red chillies - 3
. Salt to taste
To temper :
. Oil - 2 tsp
. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
. Curry leaves - 1 sprig
. Dry red chilli - 1
Method :
1. Heat oil in kadai. Add channa dal and urad dal. After it turns to golden brown, add curry leaves and dry red chillies.
2. Saute for a min. Add roughly chopped onion, tomato and garlic. Saute until it gets cooked. Turn off the flame.
3. Let it cool. Transfer to mixer jar. Add required salt. Grind it to smooth consistency by adding little water.
4. Temper with the ingredients given under to temper. Tasty paruppu chutney is ready.

Heat oil in a kadai
Add channa dal and urad dal
Saute until it becomes golden brown. Keep the flame to low as we don't want to burn the dal.
Add curry leaves and dry red chillies. Saute for a min
Add roughly chopped onion, tomato and garlic
Saute until veggies gets cooked. Turn off the flame. Let it gets cooled.
Transfer to the mixer jar
Add required salt
Grind it to smooth consistency by adding little water
Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves and dry red chilli.
Tasty paruppu chutney is ready to be served.
