Egg podimas recipe with step by step pictures 


               Egg podimas (muttai poriyal)  is a sidedish recipe that can be made within 5 mins.  This recipe is perfect for busy lunch routine.  I personally like eggs a lot.  It is very healthy and tastes yummy.  If i want to make poriyal or sidedish for rice,  and if i have eggs at home, then i definitely go for this recipe.

Ingredients  :

.  Eggs -  3 
.  Onion -  1 medium sized (finely chopped) 
.  Curry leaves  -  1 sprig 
.  Green chillies -  2 (chopped) 
.  Ginger -  1 inch piece (chopped) 
.  Oil -  1 tblsp 
.  Mustard seeds -  1 tsp 
.  Urad dal -  1 tsp 
.  Salt to taste 
.  Pepper powder -   1 tsp 


Method : 

            1.  Heat oil.  Add mustard seeds.  After it crackle,  add urad dal.  Let it turn golden brown.  

           2. Add chopped ginger and green chillies followed by onion and curry leaves.  Saute until translucent. 

           3. Crack open the eggs in.  Mix well.  Add salt and pepper.  Scrumble the eggs by scraping the pan until the moisture dries. Egg podimas done.  Serve.

          1) Heat oil in a pan.

         3) After it splutters,  add urad dal.  Let it turn golden brown. 


          4) Add chopped ginger and green chillies. 


          5) Add chopped onion and curry leaves. 


          6) Saute until it becomes translucent. 


          7) crack open the eggs in. 


          8) Mix it.  Add salt and pepper. 


          9) Mix well.  Cook in medium flame. 


         10) Scramble the eggs by scraping the pan until the moisture completely dries. 


         11) Egg podimas is ready to be served.
