Karandi omelette recipe with step by step pictures 


               Egg omelette is a sidedish recipe that is usually made in dosa tawa or any pan.  But this karandi omelette is made using any karandi( big laddle).  I made it using my tatka pan.  According to me,  making omelette in dosa tawa takes more time compared to karandi as dosa tawa takes time to get heated up.  It is a very easy and tasty recipe that you should must try. It is little gooey inside like kalakki.   I have added some chopped onion and coriander leaves.  You can add some grated veggies as your wish.

Ingredients  :

.  Eggs  - 2
.  Onion  -  1/2 onion (finely chopped) 
.  Coriander leaves  -  1 tblsp (finely chopped) 
.  Salt to taste
.  Pepper powder  -  1 tsp 
.  Oil  -  1 tsp 

Method  :

         1. Crack open the eggs in a bowl.  Add salt and pepper.  Add finely chopped onion and coriander leaves. 

        2. Beat well.  Heat oil in tatka pan.  Keep the flame to low.  Pour half of the mixture.  Cook for 30 secs.  

        3. Gently flip it using a spoon.  Cook for 30 secs.  Your karandi omelette is now ready to serve.  Serve hot.  


Pictorial   :

        5) Heat a tsp of oil in the tatka pan. 


        6) Pour half of the mixture. Cook for 30 secs in low flame. 


         7) Gently flip it using a spoon.  Cook for 30 secs. 


         8) Karandi omelette is ready.  serve hot.  


Note  :

         1. Do not pour the whole mixture, if you want the inner part cooked well. 
         2. Always keep the flame to low as the karandi heated up so fast and your omelette might get burnt. 
        3. I skiped green chilli as i cook for the kids.  You can add that too.
