Baby potato masala recipe with step by step pictures
Baby potato masala is a sidedish recipe for Indian flat breads like, chapathi, naan, parotta, etc., It is a thick gravy and tangy sidedish for chapathi. My daughter likes baby potato and i often cook for my kids. It is a simple and quick recipe that you can make it within 15 mins. You can follow this methods for other veggies like cauliflower, mixed vegetables, capsicum, and for eggs too.

Ingredients :
. Baby potato - 15 nos.
. Onion - 1 big sized (roughly chopped)
. Tomato - 2 medium sized (roughly chopped)
. Garlic cloves - 6
. Ginger - 2 inch piece
. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
. Chilli powder - 2 tsp
. Coriander powder - 1 tblsp
. Garam masala - 1 tblsp
. Salt to taste
. Oil - 1 tblsp
. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
. Kasuri methi - 2 tsp (optional)
Method :
1. Pressure cook baby potatoes for 2 whistles. Roughly chop the veggies. Grind it to smooth paste by adding little water.
2. Heat oil in a kadai. Add cumin seeds. After it splutters, add ground paste. Saute until raw smell goes out.
3. Add spice powders along with salt. Saute well and cook in low flame until oil separates.
4. Add baby potatoes. Mix well for a min. Add 1 cup of water. Cook covered in low flame for 5- 10 mins until oil separates.
5. Add crushed kasuri methi. Switch off the flame. Quick baby potato masala is ready.

Take it in a mixer jar
Grind it to smooth paste by adding little water
Heat oil in a kadai
Add cumin seeds
After it splutters, add ground paste
Saute until raw smell goes out
Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt
Mix well and cook in low flame until oil separates
Add baby potato
Mix well for a min
Add water
Cover with lid and cook in low flame for 5-10 mins until oil separates
Add crushed kasuri methi or coriander leaves. Switch off the flame.
Quick, tasty and tangy baby potato masala is ready to be served.
