Beetroot dosa / Healthy dosa recipes

 Beetroot dosa recipe with step by step pictures  



              Dosa is a common breakfast in south-india and it is very easy to cook and which is liked by almost everybody. Today I am going to make healthy beetroot dosa. This beetroot dosa is my kids favorite as it is in pink colour and tastes good. My kids usually don't eat beetroot when I make it as Beetroot poriyal  but beetroot has many nutrients and I want to include it in their meal and I got this recipe.

Ingredients  :


.  Beetroot  -  1/2 (chopped) 
.  Dry red chillies  -  2 
.  Cumin seeds  -  1 tsp 
.   Dosa batter  -  2 cup 
.   Salt to taste  
.   Oil to drizzle over dosas

Method  : 


             1.  Grind the chopped beetroot along with cumin seeds and dry red chillies without adding water. 

            2.  Take dosa batter and add the ground beetroot. Mix well. ( Dosa batter has salt itself, if need add it). 

            3.  Heat dosa tawa. Make dosas. Cook both sides well. Serve with your favorite sidedish.

              Chop the beetroot into cubes


                   Take the beetroot in a mixer jar along with dry red chillies and cumin seeds



                   Grind it to a coarse paste without adding water to it



              Take dosa batter in a bowl. ( The batter has salt itself, if need add it now) 


                Add the ground beetroot



                             Mix it well



           Heat dosa tawa. Pour a laddle of batter. Spread it to round shape. Drizzle a tsp of oil around the dosa


         Cook both the sides well. Take it out. Similarly make all the dosas
   

            Healthy and tasty beetroot dosa is ready to be served.  I served it with sambar and chutney. Coconut chutney is the best combination for this beetroot dosa
